  1. Science World in Vancouver has some pretty awesome ads. The above one is obviously a TVC, and shows what frequent flying can do to you.

Even their outdoor ads are pretty great:

The ads were made by a communications agency in Canada called Rethink - http://www.rethinkcanada.com/.

    Some more clever outdoor ads:

  2. Powerful Anti-Rhino Horn Poaching campaign designed to invade borders. By using postage stamps as a medium, the message of stop using Rhino horns was directly mailed to perps responsible for the loss of so many Rhinos.

Far more shocking than a regular petition, this idea actually spoke directly to those who were causing this epidemic. The idea was powerful and shocking and soon the unpaid media coverage followed.

This idea was though up at TBWA Hunt Lascaris and reached 1000’s in South Africa and the Far East. Powerful.

  3. Rather have the party at our place, that was the message from McDonalds to parents who were thinking of having their kids birthdays at home.

A great installation by DDB South Africa which showed parents exactly why they shouldn’t have the party at their homes.

  4. Honda have an extremely large product range, the new ad shows off these innovations through a TVC which shows a pair of hands changing and playing with a variety of Honda products.

The ad was created by Wieden + Kennedy, London and shows a person playing with miniature versions of Honda products.

The object which the ad starts off with, morphs into loads of different things, all of which are innovations which Honda have produced over the past 65 years - a technological journey.

There are some really cool products in there, some of which I never knew existed but best of all, it’s awesome to watch!

  5. Swisscom, the Swiss telecommunications provider, created a unique competition to win the new Samsung Galaxy S4.

The Galaxy S4 has eye-tracking technology which knows when you’re looking at the phone and when you’re not. The competition made use of this feature to run a competition where people had to stare at the screen for 1 hour straight and then they’d win the S4.

Sounds easy enough doesn’t it? Well, that certainly wasn’t the case! The promotion included buskers, arguing couples, stunt motorcyclists and even police dogs to try and pry the would-be winners eyes away from the screen.

It’s a great idea, which effectively communicates just one of the many new features the phone offers. Think you could handle it?

  6. THINK! - Don’t Drink and Drive

This ambient activation created by Leo Burnett London makes the viewer ask themselves one thing - What impact could a drink have on your night out?

What happens in the video is a proper #publooshocker and gets the message across really well, well I mean all the guys in the video are pretty shocked when they see what happens!

  7. Awesome doctors help create superhero formula for children.

Doctors at a hospital in Brazil teamed up with JWT Brazil to try and find a way to help kids who suffer from Cancer

Instead of using the regular chemo medication, the doctors have repackaged the medication in new superhero formula

That’s not the end of the fun, new comic books are created where superhero’s go through similar things to the kids who are suffering from the disease. This makes them relatable, so much so that even the hero’s have to take the superhero formula.

The idea is just amazing, turning something that can be so scary and overwhelming for children into something that could be fun.

  8. Duct Tape that can fix your smartphone? Is it really possible?

To be honest I don’t think it actually exists. What I do know is that it was a school project, so that means, it’s doesn’t. The project was made by Danish creative communications students Jeppe Kuld and Tobias Løvschall Wedel. It was even nominated for a Future Lions in 2012.

But even if it’s not real, it is pretty damn cool. Another thing it is, is a great idea, which is a relevant brand extension. All I wanna know is, how exactly would it work?

Im not sure if there is (although I’m sure there will be) technology that can actually do something like this.  It would probably quite expensive to fund something like this.

That doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s still a really great idea, especially for people who just can’t seem to keep their cellphones scratch-less.

  9. So lately I’ve become a bit of an online Scrabble addict, I can’t tell you why, but the game is really enjoyable, keeps you thinking I guess. Anyway when I came across this case study I just had to put it up on here.

The idea behind this was that thanks to our amazing cellphones that allow us to type quick messages, send emails and play games, people have forgotten how to spell.

So, Ogilvy Paris hatched a plan to try get people to learn how to spell again. They placed WiFi routers around Paris and urged people to connect to the network.

Once connected you have to create a word using up to 7 letters. Here’s the amazing part, the score of that word is then converted into free WiFi time for you to browse and do whatever it is you need to online. So, the higher your score is, the longer your free connection lasts, incentive much?

Shared words on Facebook doubled your connection time creating a further incentive to play.

  10. Socially responsible beer! AlmapBBDO Brazil created a Beer Turnstile for the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro.

Made for Antarctica Beer, this turnstile encouraged beer drinkers at the festival to not drink and drive, and rather take the train. All carnival-goers needed to do to get a free ride was drop off a can of beer at specially made turnstiles.

What’s even more impressive is that all the cans used to activate a free train pass were donated to NGO’s for recycling.
